Kids Who Think: Early Media Literacy™

A gentle, hands-on 9-week class that teaches young children how to understand, question, and navigate what they see online with confidence.

This course blends emotional awareness, critical thinking, and media exploration. Through simple weekly activities—movement, drawing, discussion, and creative projects—children learn how media affects their feelings, how to stay safe online, and how to think for themselves in a digital world. Designed for neurodivergent learners and children who benefit from calm structure, clear routines, and immediate reinforcement.

By the end of the course, children will be able to:

  • Notice what pictures and videos leave out

  • Recognize different types of media they see every day

  • Explain how media affects their feelings and body

  • Spot ads, tricks, and persuasive tactics made for kids

  • Tell the difference between a real person and an online performance

  • Understand what is safe—and not safe—to share online

  • Identify real images vs edited, filtered, or AI-generated ones

  • Look closely for clues and ask smart questions about what they see

  • Explain their thinking using simple, clear language

  • Build a personal media portfolio showing what they learned

Cost: $315 includes nine live virtual sessions, weekly activities, and a personal media portfolio.
